We all have triggers whether we struggle with mental illness or not.
On December 4, 2011, after attempting to overdose on over-the-counter drugs, I was not thrilled to still be alive. Three years later, I am happy to be here. This is the story about the day that changed my life.
All we knew was that my Uncle Jaay was gone. It took me a while to come to terms with his suicide. Eventually, I realized I wanted to honor his death and do something to help others.
