Every time I hear news of mass shooting, my reaction is the same: Why do innocent lives get taken when I am struggling to truly live?
Some people with mental illness would give anything to live a “normal” life, but I've embraced it.
This is the story of a survivor.
I believe that anyone can make an impact to prevent suicide. You don’t have to know someone who’s struggling, and you don’t have to “talk someone out of it.”

Everyone has a role to play in suicide prevention. Talking about it, even if it is uncomfortable at times, is a great place to start.
